Ahead of the February 25 and March 11, 2023 elections, the Igbo World Union, IWU has reminded the voters that the financial, economic and health challenges, among others currently facing Nigeria could and would be buried if they wisely use their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs.

This is even as the Union has advised the Southeasterners to actively participate in the polls, as not to have a regret afterwards.

Addressing newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, the IWU President General, His Imperial Majesty Sir Mishak Nnanta KJW KSM JP Gburugburu Ndigbo Dim who touched on the recent threat by some groups warning the Southeasterners not to vote, tasked citizens who are eligible to vote, to choose the right leader that will save the country and lead it right to a better tomorrow.

“This February 25 Presidential election is not only crucial but critical because everyone is hoping for the right person to be chosen. So the eligible voters are expected to use their voter cards wisely. It is one thing to be old enough to vote and another thing to able to vote. So, it is important to note that the PVC gives the electorate the right to cast their votes and have a say on who should take over the mantle of the nation’s apex leadership”.

Nnanta who appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the electoral act and the election umpire, the INEC for the introduction of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, which will make every vote to count, therefore encouraged citizens to realise that their votes is their power and strength; and that their vote is their right to have a say in the political affairs of the country.

The IWU PG also reminded the electorate that the selling of votes or PVCs should be discouraged in order to have a better, free and developed Nigeria.

That the desperate politicians are willing to buy your vote is enough for you to know that your single vote can change everything”, Nnanta warned the eligible voters on the dangers of buying and selling their votes.
