Why I am the best candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Fed. Constituency – Chief Paul Meregini

The Action Democratic Party, ADP Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency candidate in the February 25 House of Representatives election, Chief Paul Meregini, has declared that his antecedents among his people as a grassrooter, positioned him as the best candidate to deliver on the job if voted into the Green chambers.
Meregini, who spoke to our Correspondent in Umuajata-Olokoro autonomous community, Olokoro clan in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia State, said his edge over all the other candidates is that he understood the gravity of the challenges on the ground, the solutions they require and people’s expectations as he has been in constant engagement with the Constituents.
Meregini who vowed to contribute towards sustainable growth in the agricultural sector to boostfood security on the Constituency, when duly elected, noted that agriculture is also crucial to economic growth of any progressive society.
He maintained that agriculture can help reduce poverty, raise incomes and improve food security for the Constituents who mostly live in rural areas and work mainly in farming.
Meregini said, “I stand tall above other candidates on the grounds that I am a grassroot man, I am a son of the soil and I wear their shoes and know where it pinches. I have toured almost all the nooks and crannies of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency. I have seen their problems and as well, seen the potentials of remedying the situation. I really have the interest of my people at heart”.
Meregini who observed that the Federal Constituency has the rich deposit of kaolin, palm trees, cocoa among others, said, “The answer to the problems facing our people is agroeconomy”.
“I will from a synergy with our brothers and sisters living both in the Diaspora and outside the shores of Nigeria and encourage them to bring in investors and foreign partners to invest in our Constituency.
“Also I want to assure that under my watch as a Federal lawmaker, we will have a chocolate industry in Ikwuano. We have enough resources for that and, since the industry will not be in a place that is inaccessible, we will create access roads, develop a solar system that will ensure steady power supply. This will also create jobs for our teeming youths.
“Ikwuano/Umuahia at this time does not need or want a representative that will be based at Abuja or abroad or who will only be sharing money to them. They want a person that will genuinely teach them how to fish, so that they will develop the skills and go-a-fishing independently”, Meregini said.
The ADP Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency candidate who also disclosed intentions to establish micro industries that will handle a given material like palm seedlings from its raw material to the finished product in the Constituency, said, ” I have a lot of ideas of what to do, to better the lives of our people”.
