Delivering a presidential address at St. Stephen’s cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State during the 13th Diocesan CMF conference, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese reminded the government that allowing “Our senior citizens” to perish out of hunger will not be in the best interest of “Our people”.

Bishop Ibeabuchi stated, “We are grateful to God for His grace upon Abia state. The State anniversary service was held in Our cathedral on the 28th of August, 2022 with the leadership of the State including the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and other top Government functionaries of the State present. It was a glorious service in which God was appreciated for the existence of the State. Prayers were made for Government and the future of the State.

“In as much as we appreciate God for the efforts of the government we believe that they can do more. We are not satisfied with the level of development in our state at 31”, Bishop Ibeabuchi pointed out.
