The Coalition of Abia North Indigene for Good Governance, CANIGG has reaffirmed her support to the reelection bid of the Senate Chief whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate for Abia North Senatorial district, come February 25, 2023 National Assembly election.
In her enlarge general meeting held, Wednesday, in Ohafia L.G.A, Abia North senatorial district in Abia State, the group whose membership cut across all the major political parties in the state, unanimously agreed in a communique sign by 300 members present, that their vote is for Chief Orji Uzor Kalu.
An APC stalwart, Hon. Offor Okorie who addressed a cross section of Journalists shortly after the meeting disclosed the preparedness of the group to carry out a last minute house to house evangelism, preaching to people about the marvellous works of Dr Orji Uzor Kalu and why he should be reelected.
Offor told newsmen that the candidacy of Sen. Kalu for Senate Abia North was as good as him being a consensus candidate.
According to him, Sen. Orji Uzor kalu remained the only Distinguished senator that has “distinguished” himself not only as a senator from Abia, but in the whole Nigeria.
His words, “Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has proven to the world that the job of a senator is not only to sponsor bills, but also to positively affect the lives of the people that voted them into power”.
Offor assured the people of Abia North that the infrastructural experience through out Abia North being championed by the senator was just the beginning of more good things to come.

Also speaking, Mr Chinedu Kalu, who told newsmen that he is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) maintained that politics has changed, and it is no longer the way it used to be.
According to him, people now vote individuals based on their character, result and antecedent.
He expressed optimism that the PDP members in Abia North would vote massively for Sen. Kalu as “he is the best candidate among the other candidates vying for the Senate seat”.
He also said that Sen. Kalu’s works in Abia North speaks volume for him.
“We are not supporting party but individual with antecedents, capacity, capacity and integrity. We are tired politicians whose stock in trade is only deception. Such politicians can never be trusted. We are not ready to mortgage our conscience and future again with lies”, he said.
He passionately appealed to the people of Abia North not to waste their votes on any other candidate in the senatorial district, but to vote for Sen. Kalu, in order to make him continue in his good work.
Chinedu seized the opportunity to also appeal to the voters in Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency to look beyond Party politics and vote for Chief Fred Idika (EKWUEME OHAFIA) the NNPP, who he described as a perfect individual.
“Chief Fred Idika “EKWUEME OHAFIA” OF NNPP stand tall among all the other contestants because of his achievements in his short stay as the Ohafia Local Government Caretaker Committee Chairman. As the chairman, Chief Ekwueme brought back sanity, peace of mind and quality night sleep to Ohafia LGA. If given the opportunity, he will do more for the Arochukwu/Ohafia people”.
For Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, the group generally agreed that all her members would support, Chief Amaobi Ogah of Labour Party as he has proven his ability even as he has not occupy any public office before.
For Bende Federal constituency, the group also throws her weight behind Hon Ben Kalu of the APC as he has done extraordinarily wonderful.
