“We Run All- encompassing Educational System In A/Ibom” – Hon. Umah
The Senior Special Assistant to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Community Development and Grassroots Mobilization, Hon. Inibehe Umah has disclosed that the free and compulsory education system in Akwa Ibom State remained an all-encompassing package designed to combat illiteracy in the Nigeria society.
Umah who spoke to a cross section of Journalists in Umuahia, Abia State shortly after the Year 2020/2021 maiden graduation/moving up ceremony of Cradel Of Mercy International Schools, COMIS said the free and compulsory education policy of Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel was meant to benefit indigenes and non-indigenes.
Umah said, “Gov. Udom is very enlightened, very educated person, he has done so much to encourage a very comprehensive free and compulsory education in Akwa Ibom State. It is not just for the citizens of Akwa Ibom State but those living in the state including Abians.
“Abia children are enjoying a free and compulsory education in Akwa Ibom State. There is no discrimination in the policy, both indigenes and non-indigenes are given equal treatment”.
Umah who said he was highly impressed with the method of teaching and learning in COMIS, lauded the Managing Directoress of the school, Mrs Imeoria-Kelechi Eberechi (Esq) for building minds and individuals that will be the future leaders of Nigeria.
The Akwa Ibom State Governor’s aide who also described education as the bedrock of development, defined Early Learning, as the foundation for a better society.
