The members of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency/Social Watch Anti-drug Abuse Advocacy, SWADAA Abia State Command and Ofeme Mandate Forum, Ohuhu clan in Umuahia North Local Government Area, have been encouraged to advance their understanding and acceptance of good practices in transparency and accountability for the good of Umuahia North State Constituency.

Interacting respectively with the groups, the African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate for Umuahia North State Constituency for the March 11, 2023 House of Assembly election, Rev. Blessed Amalambu who harped on the role of transparency and accountability in the economic development in the Constituency, said that accountability in resource management as it affects Constituency allowance is what the Constituents are earnestly yearning for and which he will introduce if duly elected as their legislator.

Amalambu who encouraged them to develop interest in transparency and accountability and make it their watchword while casting their votes at the House of Assembly poll, pointed out that such action will give birth to good governance in the Constituency.

Amalambu said, “I have the experience to make Umuahia North State Constituency what it needs to be for all Ohuhu people. I have dedicated my years to service to the nation as Southeast regional Assistant Secretary and Abia State Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria. We deserve a lawmaker with passion and a record of results. Through my years of service, I have already addressed several issues both in the Church, the legislative house and the media, and you can expect that same level of commitment if elected a legislator.

I have made my office as the State Coordinator of NAVC/ICPC more transparent and accountable by selflessly fighting against corruption and its related practices. I believe in a transparent and accountable leadership, which I will also give if elected”.

Responding, some of the participants who include: Mr. Chidozie Iweha; Mr. Kingsley Sunday; Deacon Odionyemfe Iroegbu; Mr. Uche Ibeakanma; Mr Williams Nnaji, the ADC Umuhu ward Chairman among others described Rev. Amalambu as a trained, lettered, cultured and God-fearing person, informing that Ofeme is in dire need of dividends of democracy, which has eluded them for years past.

They appreciated the Church for waking up to take their rightful place in the political space of the country, which they had earlier taken for granted which gave birth to maladministration, poor leadership and governance.

They said as the electorate they have been awoken politically and will do the needful to change the narrative in the February and March, 2023 elections.

They appreciated Rev. Amalambu for his zeal and courage to come out to defend the people.

Meanwhile, the members of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency/Social Watch Anti-drug Abuse Advocacy, SWADAA Abia State Command have assured Rev. Amalambu that they are ready and willing to work diligently to make sure he wins at the poll.

The group led by Commander Chris Iheukwumere, however appealed to Rev.  Amalambu to remember them when he gets to the State House of Assembly.

Responding, Rev Amalambu, promised to work with them as soon as he enters into Abia house of assembly as an Honourable member.
