Sustain your selfless service to humanity, Rotarians encouraged

Rotarians have been encouraged to sustain their selfless service to humanity through providing educational needs and opportunities to the indigent.
In his lecture entitled, “What does serve to change lives mean to you” during a heartwarming fellowship organized by Rotary Club of Umuahia, District 9142 in Umuahia, Abia State capital, the resource person, Rtn. Paul Mbakwe harped the need for Rotarians to positively affect lives of the indigent and the non-mainstream individuals in the communities, especially at the basics secondary level.
His words, “We are not only serving to change lives but we are equally causing people to be happy. For Mr. Herbert Spenser, ‘no body is happy until others are happy”.
Earlier in his speech, the Visionary President of the Club, Rtn. Ajawara Ugochukwu maintained that service is a gift from God and an elevator to growth.
Ajawara pointed out that “How well you serve determines your freedom in the society and the hand that gives is always on top”
In their respective remarks, the Rotary Past Assistant Governor zone 4, PAG Ogechi Oguama who exposed and expounded the Rotary Club’s seven (7) areas of focus, pointed out that service above self remains Rotary International motto; while the Rotary District Governor Elect, DGE Grace Okaro highlighted on areas one can serve in his or her community and family.
Past Assistant Governor, PAG Chimdi Oluoha, Rtn. Ijeoma Irokanulo, Rtn Chinemerem Okoroafor among other Rotarians and guests attended.
