Some Of The Best Choirmasters And Choir Leaders Are Not Born Again, Anglican Bishop Reveals

The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese, The Rt Rev’d Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi has decried the activities of wolves in sheep clothing who have infiltrated the liturgical music ministry.


In his message for the Year 2021 Diocesan Choir Sunday celebration, at St. Stephen’s Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State, Bishop Ibeabuchi expressed worries that most of the choristers and even some of the best choirmasters and choir leaders are not born again, even when it is clearly understood that the Ministry of praising God is one that will not end on earth.

The Anglican Bishop who appeared perturbed with the development observed that , “There is no spiritual hunger to knowing God more rather, the Ministry seems like an entertainment industry than a ministry to the praise of God. This trend must change. In as much as we appreciate good music and melodious rendition of anthems, your souls are more important to God”. 


He encouraged the Choir and gospel band to make out time to apart from rehearsal, attend prayer meetings, Bible studies and church fellowships to enhance their spiritual lives and personal relationship with Christ. 


Similarly, the Vicar Christ the King Anglican Communion Ugba Parish Umuahia diocese Anglican Communion, Rev’d Victor Irokwe has pointed out that a good and quality praise and worship is supported and enhanced by a good choir. 
Rev. Irokwe who drew his reference from the Bible book of Psalm chapter 34, enjoined the congregation to always praise God at all times as it is good to praise God and shun the act and life of hypocrisy
