Shun politics of ‘Nwannam’, vote competent Candidates, Prof. Greg Ibe Abia Central Campaign Council tells Isialangwa South people

The Abia Central Campaign Council for the 2023 governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA Prof. Greg Ibe has urged the people of Isialangwa South L.G.A, of the State to shun primordial sentiments and vote competent candidates during the general elections.

Speaking respectively at Obuba in Akunaekpu-Eziama-Obuba Ward 6; Umuhu-Nvosi in Ehilauguru-Osokwa ward 5 and Umugo-Umuapu in Ovungwo ward 8 in Isialangwa South L.G.A, during a ward tour, the Zonal APGA Chairman, Abia South, Chief Lucky Erondu said the sensitisation against the politics of ‘Nwannam’ (sentiments) has became imperative to enlighten the grassroots to know the significance of making the right choices at the polls.

He said: “At this critical moment of the electioneering period, a lot of desperate politicians who have nothing to offer are mobilising people along godfatherism and brotherhood lines for their selfish interests”.

Erondu tasked the Ward Chairmen to speed up their public enlightenment campaign on the issue and in turn, winning more souls for the party.

His words, “Abia State is in dire need of change and this will only come through Prof. Ibe. So do not lose hope, keep hope alive because APGA is in a positive move to make Abia great again. We need to get equipped with our Permanent Voter Cards, go a fishing with each one catch one approach and win more souls for APGA, because there’s a better and greater tomorrow for us”.

Also in his speech, Mr. Chikaodi Dennis, Chairman Elders stakeholders forum, asserted that APGA has come to set a good example in Abia, as the state is currently suffering from a poorly laid foundation, if nothing is done urgently, the State might collapse completely.

He maintained that God gave the electorate a great opportunity through the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), an electronic device designed to read PVCs and authenticate voters, adding, “It is a big kudos to Abians and Nigerians who aspires for positive change”.

The APGA Isialangwa South House of Assembly candidate, Hon. Christian Chinyeremaka Okeri, in his remarks, called on the people to wake up and liberate themselves from the bondage of bad governance, maladministration and backwardness, using their voter cards as their instrument.

“Don’t be distracted by the gimmicks, sweet coated and serpentine approach of desperate politicians who do not mean well for you. Vote APGA for the sake of your children. Do not mortgage their future, APGA has come to liberate Abia from poor governance”, Okeri passionately appealed to the mammoth crowd that welcomed the campaign team.

In their respective remarks, the Isialangwa South APGA Chairman, Mr. Mike Eze;  Mr. Augustine Avuajah; Mr. Vincent Isaac; Mr. Young Okwubunka; Mr. Alphaeus Obioma; Mrs Charity Añucha from Ovungwo ward 8 among others carefully observed that the societal ills which enveloped the society presently, came as a result of unconducive environment created by bad governance.

They maintained that they need Prof. Ibe and his lieutenants to liberate Abia as it was done in the biblical days of Moses, who liberated the Israelites from the hands of Pharaoh and the Egyptians.
