Shun Gatecrashing, It Belittles You, Eze Ogbenna Advises Royal Fathers, As He Celebrates 80th Birthday Anniversary

The traditional ruler of Uzi-Amizi autonomous community, Olokoro clan in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia State, Eze Cyril Ogbenna has advised Royal fathers to shun the attitude of gatecrashing, reasoning that it belittles the royal institution.

Interacting with a cross section of Journalists shortly after his 80th birthday anniversary celebration mass, which was officiated by Rev. Fr. Martin Nwankpa, the parish priest of St. Declan’s Catholic parish, Amizi-Olokoro, Eze Ogbenna decried that some traditional rulers through their activities have ridiculed the once revered royal stool and encouraged such traditional rulers to turn a new leaf.

Eze Ogbenna who critically compared and analyzed the standard of living in the 1950s and the present day, maintained that life was betteroff in the 50s, when there was value for human life and the nation’s currency competing favourably with the US Dollar, which is not in existence in the present Nigeria.

Eze Ogbenna who also appreciated God for His divine protection, preservation and deliverance, disclosed that he has remained a vanguard of truth and transparency and will not refrain from that.

The traditional rulers who graced the occasion – HRM Eze Godfrey Ibeakanma and HRH Eze Paul Egwu ( from Umuopara Clan); and Eze Dr. John Onuzuruike from Old- Umuahia (Olokoro Clan) said they came to celebrate God’s sufficient mercy, grace and benevolence on the life of Eze Ogbenna and prayed God to sustain him with good health.

Also speaking, a PDP stalwart and first in-law of the celebrant, Chief Chibueze Onyemachi expressed gratitude to God for the gift of life He decorated his father in-law with especially in the present era where life expectancy has drastically dropped.

He described Eze Ogbenna as a man of integrity whose life of transparency and honesty has made him to remain focused, steadfast and in sound mind and good health.
