Rotary Club Inducts New Members


Rotary Club of Umuahia Government House, District 9142, Thursday, inducted two legal practitioners – Rtn. Amarachukwu Onubogu and Rtn. Ebubedike Kanu into its fold.

The Club also celebrated the birthday anniversaries of the Abia State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Eze Chikamnayo and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor and President-elect of the Club, Barr. Olugu Kalu Ugba.

Speaking during the fellowship held in Umuahia, Abia State, the Visionary President of Rotary Club, Rtn. Emeka Wachuku disclosed that Rotary members come from all walks of life as the Club consists of a cross section of every business community.
He pointed out that membership of Rotary develops leadership, public speaking, social, business, personaland vocational skills as well as improving cultural awareness.

Rtn. Wachuku who exposed and expounded of being a member of Rotary, said, in an increasingly complex world, Rotary provides one of the most basic human needs for friends; professional and corporate skills exposition; fight for a worthy cause; motivate others, among other benefits.

Inducting the new members -Rtn. Amarachukwu Onubogu and Rtn. Ebubedike Kanu, the Zone 5 Rotary Assistant Governor-elect District 9142, Rtn. Emeka Ogelle said apart from making friends in one’s own community and throughout the world and giving back to the community which is a simple philosophy which Rotary maintains, Rotary also afford members with travel opportunities; continued learning; personal growth and development; fun and entertainment; and business development.

He encouraged both the old and new members of the Club to be proud Rotarians and ensure that Rotary pin is always on their lapel.

Responding respectively, the new members of the Club, Rtn. Amarachukwu Onubogu and Rtn. Ebubedike Kanu described the event as a dream come true and promised to abide by the laws and ethics of the Club and contribute meaningfully to its growth and development.
