The Synergizer President of Rotary Club of Umuahia North, District 9142, Rotarian Geraldine Onuorah has appreciated the Rotaractors on their 55 years of exceptional services to humanity and making a difference.

Speaking during a joint fellowship with Rotaract Clubs in zone 2 in Umuahia, Abia State, to mark the anniversary celebration, Rtn. Onuorah who maintained that Rotaract is good, encouraged them to always be “a proud Rotaractor”, as the Club has harnessed in great ways, their leadership skills and community development expertise.

Rtn. Onuorah went down memory lane to recall the selfless services rendered by the Rotaractors, even at the peak of the Covid 19 pandemic, to ensure that they helped cushion the effects of the pandemic in their immediate domains and to keep hope alive.

The Synergizer President who  expressed happiness that at 55, the Rotaract Club is still waxing strong, developing youths to add value to their communities, tasked the Rotaractors to continue to let the good news of Rotaract spread abroad.

“What other way to celebrate the nobility and goodness of Rotaract in its 55 years of existence, than to celebrate and encourage the Rotaractors, our young volunteers who are doing extraordinary things to make our community a better place”, Rtn. Onuorah said, even as she charged them to always tell the Rotaract Story and reminiscent on how their Rotaract journey have been.

Interacting with our correspondent, one of the Rotaract Presidents from Rotaract Clubs in zone 2 and the 36th President of Rotaract Club of Umuahia CB, Rotaractor Kingsley Eze, who exposed and expounded the value of service in Rotaract, encouraged the Rotaractors to strive to let the good news of Rotaract spread abroad in the spirit of celebrating Rotaract at 55.

“It’s 55 years of service to humanity, to our community and to ourselves, so we should be happy and proud to congratulate ourselves”, Rotr. Eze added.

The District Rotaract Chair, PAG Ogechi Oguama had earlier in a topic, “Rotary’s Role In Provision Of Clean Water And Hygiene Practices”, exposed the Rotarians, Rotaractors and guests to the essential criteria to healthy living.

As the District Rotaract Activities Chair, Rtn. Oguama encouraged Rotaractors who were celebrating 55years of the existence of Rotaract to continue being committed to Rotary causes as the future of Rotary can never be assured in the absence of Rotaract clubs, as Rotaract which represents ROTARY IN ACTION, will always be Rotary’s best kept secret.

Recall that Rotaract Clubs in Umuahia had carried out Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (WASH) Project at Ibeku High School, Umuahia, the Abia State capital as part of the activities to mark the 2023 World Rotaract Week.

Geared towards reducing the risk of infection, WASH project, as gathered by our correspondent, promotes good hygiene practices including oral hygiene and proper hand washing methods.

The event which saw Rtn Uchechukwu Udeji, Rtn Michael Ibegbulam, Rtn Uche Deborah and other past Rotaractors shared their Rotaract experience/story, featured the cutting of Rotaract anniversary celebration cake, center point game among other side attractions.
