Publicly condemn societal ills, Abia Monarch tasks traditional rulers, religious leaders and political leaders in a new year message

The traditional ruler of Uzi-Amizi autonomous community, Olokoro clan in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia, Eze Cyril Ogbenna, has tasked political leaders to go extra mile, think outside the box to save the nation from calamities.

This advice came, following the ills that have enveloped Nigeria and the world in recent times, which include: alarming rate of killings, insecurity among others.

In a new year message made available to newsmen in Umuahia, Eze Ogbenna also decried that the religious leaders and the traditional Institutions seldom tell their people the truth and are only concentrated at defending themselves.

He encouraged them to brave up and publicly condemn the evils that have bedeviled the society.

Eze Ogbenna further lamented that most of the youths are not bothered about their future even in the world filled with great opportunities, thanks to skills acquisition programmes.

“The present youth are not even thinking of their future, a lot of problems are now arising from the youth; although I don’t completely blame them because of lack of white collar jobs for the graduates but I strongly believe that anyone who wants to be bad, will definitely be bad”.

  • Eze CY , to my knowledge, among his peers in Olokoro is a forthright
and practically solution-oriented person interested in fighting for the oppressed and those whose rights are being denied while most other kings, or Ezes, compete in avarice, expropriation of common patrimony and misappropriation of community resources.

He’s fearless and dogged for which those whose ox are gored misrepresent his motives while he’s endeared to the commoners who are overwhelming in the majority, and that’s what matters most his popularity and effective proactive and preemptive disposition.

I buy into his New Year message and may God keep him and those in his steps longer for us.
