Prof. Ibe, others grace FMC CMD father’s burial

There was rousing and overwhelming welcome for the Governorship candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Prof. Greg Ibe by residents of Umuahia, the Abia State capital on Thursday.

Prof. Greg Ibe ably represented by his running mate, Hon. Obinna Ichita was accompanied by Mr. Charles Ukeagu from the Abia Good Governance Forum, AGGF Directorate; APGA chieftain, High Chief Enyinaya Onyekwere; and APGA Party Secretary Amb Sunday Onukwubiri.

Others are: Engr. Ogbonna Abarikwu, APGA candidate for Umuahia/ Ikwuano Federal Constituency; State House of Assembly candidates from Umuahia South, Umuahia Central, Umuahia North, Hon Emmanuel Egwu, Chinedu Obilor, Hon. Ugochukwu Ikpo respectively; Johnbosco, among other APGA members.

They had stormed Amuzukwu, in Umuahia North L.G.A, of the State for the funeral service of Sir Micah Onyebuchi, father to the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Umuahia, Professor Azubuike Onyebuchi.

Interacting with our correspondent shortly after the funeral service, the Abia APGA guber candidate for the year 2023 governorship election said he came to commensurate, support and join the Onyebuchi family of Amuzukwu Ibeku, Umuahia to bid their late father farewell.

He recalled that the late Sir Micah Onyebuchi as a former Chairman of the Abia State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) contributed immensely to the advancement of education as well as the development of the State.

Prof. Ibe who lauded the sterling attributes, qualities and performance of the patriarch, pointed out that he did not die untimely but died as a fulfilled man.

He noted that the roles late Chief Micah Onyebuchi played in his family, community and State as former Chairman of ASUBEB cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

Interacting with our correspondent also, Mr. Charles Ukeagu from the AGGF Directorate recalled that the AGGF, a Nongovernmental Organization which preaches good governance and advocates for the good of the Masses, had on the 24th day of July, 2022 paid a condolence visit to the Chief Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia, Dr Azubuike Onyebuchi and family over the demise of their Father.

Ukeagu who recalled that the deceased was a strict disciplinarian and teacher, encouraged the Onyebuchis’ to accepted the demise of their beloved father as the will of God and also strive to uphold all his examplary life and legacies.

The funeral service which was officiated by the retiring Primate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Kalu Uche was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life.
