Okonta family holds thanksgiving service after mother’s burial.

The Okonta’s family on Sunday, August, 27, 2023 held a thanksgiving service after the successful burial of their late mother, wife, sister, aunt and grandmother, late Mother Nneoma Florence Okonta.
Late Nneoma Florence Okonta is the mother of the President of the Youth Wing of Catholic Secretariat Of Nigeria, Umuahia Diocese CSN Comrade Eugene Okonta and the Editor of Lumen Press, Umuahia, Rev. Fr. Alex Mario Okonta.
Mama died peaceful at the age of 73 on 2nd July, 2023. She was buried on Friday, August 18th at her husband’s compound in Akwa Akatta, after a requiem mass at St. Martin’s Catholic parish Akwa Akatta, Oru- East L.G.A Orlu, Imo State.

Speaking at the thanksgiving mass held at St. Michael’s Catholic parish Ossah Road/ Palm lane Umuahia, Abia State, the Parish priest, Rev. Fr. Patrick Lekwa Chukwu enjoined mothers to train their children well as the deceased Nneoma Florence Okonta did, which made her to raise children with sterling attributes.
“Rev. Fr. Alex Okonta has done Umuahia Catholic Diocese proud. He is a round peg in a round hole. He has proved himself all these years and you all can see the beauty. He has also proved himself as one of the best three Editors since the creation of Lumen Newspapers. Also, Comrade Eugene Okonta has been one of the life wire of this Parish. Mama did a very good job in the moral upbringing of her children. Mama, has gone but not dead. May her soul rest in perfect peace”.
In an interview, one of the deceased sons, who is the President Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Youth Wing, Umuahia Diocese, CSN Comrade Eugene Okonta, said that their late mother loved and believed so much in all her children till her death, and promised to ensure that the bond her mother created amongst them is maintained and sustained.
“My mother lived an exemplary life. She was an Icon of humility, love and care. An adviser, motivator and bridge builder”, Okonta recounted, even as he thanked God for the life of his late mother whom he also described as a unique mother.
Comrade Okonta, passionately prayed for the eternal repose of her soul.
