The Ag. Head of Service, Lady Joy Maduka has said that overhauling and reforming the Abia State Civil Service with a view to restoring its lost glory are tasks that must be accomplished in the present administration’s scheme of things.

To this end, she announced that Government has ban hawking and any form of trading by Civil/Public Servants, within the Government stipulated hours of 8am to 4pm.

Lady Maduka, who stated, this in her maiden meeting, with the staff of the Inner office,  (immediate staff) alongside the entire management and staff of the Office of the Head of Service, according to a press release made available to newsmen in Umuahia by Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, Director of Information/ press, office of the Head of Service, further admonished workers to eschew sabotage, unethical behavior,  general indiscipline and implored them to adhere strictly to the public Service Rules and Regulations.

The Ag. Head of Service, who reiterated Governor Otti’s  avowed commitment in improving the welfare of the workforce as well as give them their pride of place asserted that henceforth, Government would not condone disrespect to constituted authority/Superiors, lateness to work, loitering and gossip.

In a vote of thanks, the Director of Finance, Inner office, Mrs Cynthia Nwankpa and the Chief Confidential Secretary, Mr. Chukwunma Dick, assured the unalloyed support and loyalty to the present administration.
