
Make Christ the source of your marriage, Priest enjoins married couples

Married couples have been enjoined to make Jesus Christ the source of their marriage as He is pillar of every successful marriage.
Bishop of Umuahia West Diocese of Methodist Church Rt Rev Dr VCE Onoh gave the admonition during the holy matrimony between former Miss Victoria Okenwa Ichie and Mr. Ogechukwu Nwankwo, at St Stephen’s Methodist Church, Amachara in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia State.

Preaching on the topic: “Godly home, Godly marriage”, Rt Rev. Onoh, pointed out that any marriage that is not supported and well-rooted in Christ has a way of leading to a crash.
The Methodist cleric asserted that for the marriage to enjoy its bliss of godliness it must couples must walk in love, walk in wisdom as well as find what is acceptable with God.
He cautioned against allowing what he termed as “intruders” in marriage, adding that couples must nourish their union to blossom.
Rt. Rev. Onoh seized the opportunity to encourage the young ones not to jump into marriage without receiving good counsel about marriage, stressing that: “Marriage is serious business, no issues should be taken for granted in marriage.”
Speaking at the reception, Chairman of the occasion, Chief Maduabuchi Gabriel, charged them to love each other and prayer God to bless their union.
Responding, the groom, Mr Ogechukwu Nwankwo, who expressed gratitude to God for making the day a success, thanked everyone for graced the day.

The colourful event was attended by many dignitaries from all works of life including the groom’s classmates from Government College, Umuahia Old Boys Association, class ’93, staff of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike, among others.
