The Igbo Vanguard Group, IVG has advised Nigerians to embrace peace while the 2023 elections lasted in the country.

Addressing a cross section of Journalists, Wednesday, in Umuahia, Abia State, the President General of the group, Engr. James Nnadozie Uchegbuo appreciated the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration’s efforts to checkmate the inflow of cash by the rugged politicians, whose intention is to buy the votes and frustrate the democratic change of governance.

He however decried that despite the measures put in place, “These hardened destroyers of democracy are still hell-bent to use every available means to deceive the public and sustain their illegitimate relevance in governance at the detriment of our economy”.

His words, “The election should be peaceful and people should be allowed to exercise their franchise freely and willingly to choose their choice of leadership in the February 25 and March 11, 2023 elections.

“We are not talking about party, to hell with political godfatherism in Nigeria. The youths are desperate for a change in Abia State and Nigeria. We want to enthrone genuine democracy, infrastructural development, social amenities, better welfare packages including the payment of monthly salaries, pensions and gratuities”, Uchegbuo noted.
