Intercede For World Peace, Anglican Bishop Tells Christians At Easter
Christians have been called upon to use the Easter season to intercede for the peace of Nigeria, other nations of the world and for the growth of the Church.
In his Easter message at St. Stephen’s cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Anglican Communion counselled the nation’s leadership that without Christ at the helm of affairs, “We can do nothing”, hence the urgent need to solely rely on Him.
He said, “Being alive to witness another Easter can only be by the mercies of God. God in His infinite mercy decided to spare us despite our shortfalls, sins and wickedness to Him and to one another. In the present economic and unfriendly situations in the Land and the entire globe, we have been sustained by His grace and we return all the glory to Him who died for us and rose again for our victory”.
Bishop Ibeabuchi said that, “The story of Easter is our story of hope. That our Saviour Jesus Christ died and rose again is the testimony of the Church against the powers of darkness and the rulers of this evil world throughout all generations”.
