The Igbo World Union, IWU has passionately appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to release the Indigenous People Of Biafra leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as a parting gift to the Southerners and Nigerians as a whole, as his administration gradually winds up.

Making this appeal while interacting with our reporter shortly after he arrived Umuahia, the Abia State capital, the IWU President General, His Imperial Majesty Sir Mishak Nnanta, KJW, KSM, JP reminded President Buhari of his initial appeal on the IPOB leader case, the visits of the late Chief Mbazulike Amaechi and other Nigerians on the same issue, and advised that he should consider the late Mbazulike and release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Nnanta who also decried the hardship faced by Nigerians as a result of the new naira note swap, the sale price introduced by the POS operators among other difficulties, advised a systematic withdrawal of the old notes to ease the pains of the hopeless and helpless citizens.

Nnanta seized the opportunity to advice the Igbos to properly make use of their Permanent Voter Cards to vote in only credibility and integrity into the various leadership positions in Nigeria.

Nnanta said, “Nigerians need to elect leaders who are after their hearts. We need leaders with capacity, character, compassion and who have the willpower to turn things around for the better. We want leaders, who among their contemporaries, that can help Nigerians take back their country and move it forward”.

Nnanta who obviously observed that the Card reader is relatively the engine room of the voting process in the nation’s electoral terrain, advised the INEC to do everything humanly possible with a view to ensuring that the said electronic device functioned flawlessly and perfectly as expected by all concerned.
