Help save a victim, FRSC boss tasks Abians…As Nnanta set to become S/E Rep of NANFACOS

The Abia State Command of Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC led by its Sector Commander, Corps Commander Paul Ugwu has challenged Abians and residents to be human first and help save a victim instead of snapping pictures or taking videos of accident victims.
Speaking shortly at Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum palace in Umuajata-Olokoro, Umuahia South L.G.A of the State shortly after he received ‘Uzodinma Ndigbo Dum’ award from His Imperial Majesty, Sir Mishak Nnanta, KJW, KSM, JP, Ugwu counselled citizens not to let the social media rule over them.He advised that helping victims should be priority and not filming a spot of the incident and the helpless victims.

Ugwu who also exposed and expounded issues that affects the roads, its usage, vehicle licensing, dangers of night travels among others, said while recordings of accident scenes and victims of such fatalities on smartphones have helped alert authorities to such tragedies in real time after they had been uploaded on Facebook, twitter and other social media platforms, it has sadly, contributed to more losses than it had saved situations.
Speaking also shortly after he received the ‘Nwachimereze Ndigbo Dum’ award, the first National President of Nigerian Farmers Cooperative Society, NANFACOS, Chief Uzoma Nwogwugwu described Cooperative society as a uniting factor in Nigeria and urged the people gathered during the event to strive to form a viable one.

He appreciated Nnanta, who is also the President General of Igbo World Union, IWU for his efforts towards ensuring that the Southeasterners come to limelight, particularly in NANFACOS activities, promising that the award will spur him to do more positive things for Umuahia indigenes.
He seized the opportunity to announce that Nnanta has been nominated as the Southeast region representative of NANFACOS, a position the zone has been lacking.
Responding, Sir Nnanta who appreciated the strides and excellent capabilities of the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Paul Ugwu and the first National President of OF Nigerian Farmers Cooperative Society, NANFACOS, Chief Uzoma Nwogwugwu, reiterated his avowed commitment to quality representation of the Igbo course/cause.
