
Fmr. Council Boss Tasks LG Chairmen On Strategic Security Measures And Structures Introduced By ABSG

A former Executive Chairman of Ikwuano LGA of Abia State, Deacon Stanley Ojigbo has urged the 17 Local Government Chairmen and stakeholders in the security sector of the State to align themselves with the new policy direction of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and live up to expectations by coordinating the security apparatus in their areas to achieve the vision of the governor.

Recall that in his efforts to makesecurity topmost priority in the State, Gov. Ikpeazu introduced a novel security structure that involves various local security personnel responsible for gathering intelligence geared towards nipping criminal activities in the bud.
Reacting to the recent strategic security measures and structures introduced by Governor Ikpeazu at the community, local government and State levels, where selected numbers of security personnel will be in charge at the various levels of security architecture across the State, Deacon Ojigbo, a former Commissioner for Environment in Abia State, lauded the governor’s decision to empower Local Government authorities and security stakeholders to take charge of security of lives and property of Abians.

According to him, the importance of security in Abia cannot be overemphasised as the State is at the centre of the South East and South South regions and criminal activities happening around these other areas could affect the State
He appreciated the Governor for arming the personnel with various types of logistics including relevant gadgets for prompt and effective communication to enable them carry out their duties effectively.
He said the action of the Governor is a proof of the commitment of his administration to the security of lives and property in the State.
Deacon Ojigbo seized the opportunity to commend Governor Ikpeazu for his ingenuity and commitment which made Abia to rank first in the vaccination of Covid-19 in the Southeast.
He also advised Abians to adhere strictly to the approved non pharmaceutical measures, especially now that the third wave of Covid-19 is ravaging everywhere.
