Faith in God is a life-saving power, Anglican Bishop reminds Christians


Christians have been reminded that learning to rely on the power of God is part of living the Christian life as faith in God is a life-saving power.

In his sermon during the rededication and thanksgiving service at St. Stephen’s cathedral school field, Umuahia, Abia State, The Rt Rev’d Geoffrey Obijuru Ibeabuchi, Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese, pointed out that the word “You don’t believe” rare come to fruition.

He reminded the congregation that the power of God is still available and God still in active business of helping and giving new songs to his children, hence the need for them to always believe the word of God.

Rededicating the arms of the church which include the Women Ministry, Christian Men Fellowship, Diocesan Ministry of Young People, (DOCOMOYUP),Lay Readers, Choir, EFAC among others, Bishop Ibeabuchi prayed for God’s protection, mercy and divine grace upon His workers.

Interacting with a cross section of Journalists shortly after the service, Dr. Mrs Gospel Geo-Ibeabuchi (Mama Umuahia) counselled the youths, children and women against cutting corners as anyone who engage in such is bound to fail.

Mrs Ibeabuchi who laid more emphasis on hardwork, further encouraged the youths to always embrace hardwork and completely put their trust in the Lord, who will in due course crown their efforts with success.

She encouraged the Anglican faithful to continue with God as they have made up their mind to start with Him in the year 2022 and always go back to Him for sustenance at all times.

In his remarks, Ven. Godswill Emeruwa of Holy Trinity, Ubakala in Umuahia South L.G.A and the Chairman 2022 Diocesan Prayer Convention which had the theme “If it had not been the Lord”, appreciated God for His infinite mercies upon the church and for the success the convention recorded.
