Ijioma called on the handlers of the nation’s economy to squarely tackle inflation which is at the alarming rate.
Her words, “Handlers of our economy should for humanity sake, look upon the citizens with pity and compassion. It is no longer news that our economy has grown into comatose, and this has resulted to untold hardship, suffering and hunger in the land. Only a meagre percentage of our population can afford three square meal per day.

“The prices of common house commodities have skyrocketed beyond the reach of common man. The increasing cost of Premium Motor Spirit is no longer a matter of joke. President Buhari should as a matter of necessity in salvaging the unpleasant situation, declare a state of emergency on the economy”.

Ijioma further advised the Abia State Government to always consider the welfare and well-being of the public servants.

According to her, “An urgent attention and prompt response should be given to parastatals and Agencies, some of whom are owed up to shocking numbers of 10 to 12 months and above salaries. People working in these places are human beings like others, who equally deserves to enjoy necessities of life.
