Contracted Marriages, Responsible For Spousal Assault, PFN Reacts
The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN has discovered that contracted and executed marriages were the major reasons behind spousal abuse and other domestic related violence.
Interacting with a cross section of Journalists in Umuahia, the PFN Assistant Secretary, and Abia State PFN chapter Secretary, Rev. Blessed Amalambu decried that most couple meet on Facebook and WhatsApp and without proper counseling jump into marriage without knowing fully the background of their partners.
Amalambu maintained that Christian faith vehemently condemn violence in marriage and God is vehemently against spousal assault.
The Abia PFN scribe disclosed that marriage, which is a God’s institution, is a lifelong union, adding that whatever that takes place in marriage should stem from what God has stipulated about marriage.
“God is against divorce and also vehemently against spousal abuse. Many marriages are contracted and executed without proper godly counseling. Most girls marry unguided and unprepared”, Amalambu observed.
He advised those who divorced their marriages to remain separated and unmarried, as going into another marriage is not acceptable by God.
