Circumcise Your Heart , Live Righteously, Rev’d Canon Amaihe charge Christians in a new year message


Nigerians have been enjoined to allow the Holy Spirit to lead them to the path of righteousness so as to stand boldly to be “Divinely rewarded now and in the coming of Christ”.

Preaching at the St. Stephen’s Cathedral 6 o’clock service, Anglican communion, in Umuahia, Abia State, Rev’d Canon Nelson Kelechukwu Amaihe, a Canon on Mission To the Persian Gulf, who spoke on the topic, “Circumcise Your Heart – Live Righteously, with text drawn from the Bible book of Luke chapter 2 verse 21 through 24 encouraged the congregation to align with God and allow the word of God to prune them in order to live a righteous life.

Amaihe who exposed and expounded the roles played by Mary and Joseph towards the upbringing of Jesus Christ, also reminded parents of the onerous assignment of raising their children and people around them in the fear of God. 

His words, “Mary was purified after child birth according Jewish tradition. We are to purify our lives as we journey through the year 2023. Life of purity is the key to attract God’s blessings this year. 

“According to the Jewish tradition, Mary and Joseph appeared with two pigeons as they were instructed. For us to live and walk with God this year, we are not to appear before Him empty rather we are to use our God-given gifts for the expansion of His Kingdom this year”.

Rev’d Canon Amaihe further tasked the congregation not to disobeyed the word of God spoken to them, advised that, “We are to hid the word of God in our hearts so we don’t live out of His commands as we journey in the year ahead”.

The Anglican Priest reminded the congregation that they were preserved to live a godly life in the year 2023 and in the years ahead and as such should watch and guard their hearts, steps and utterances.
