Children of political leaders must study in Nigeria – Bishop Ibeabuchi
The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia diocese, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi has suggested a motion mandating the children of politicians to study in Nigeria.
In his Presidential address at St. Stephen’s cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State during the 13th Diocesan Christian Men Fellowship, CMF with the theme, “God knows you”, Bishop Ibeabuchi opined that through such measure, the academic standard of the nation will be improved.
Bishop Ibeabuchi who decried the sorry state of the nation’s education system, moreover expressed gratitude to God for the long ASUU strike which has been suspended.
His words, “We must express our sadness over the poor attention given to our Institutions here in Nigeria while the politicians and the train theirs abroad.
“I wish to move a motion in this conference that the children of our political leaders must study in Nigeria. This is the only way to improve our facilities and also take good care of the staff of our Institutions of learning”, Bishop Ibeabuchi rightly suggested.
