In his speech at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia during the 2021 Vision Africa festival of Carol and Nine lessons done in partnership with Abia State Government, Bishop Onuoha said the Christmas season calls for peace that will heal the land and peace that will bring hope for the hopeless.

Bishop Onuoha who admitted that hardship has enveloped the present society, however said, “When things are hard, it is time to look inwards and ask yourself, are there things that I have, that I can still use instead of looking for new things. It is not a time for acquisition of new things. It is a time for sharing God’s love”.

On the essence of the event, Bishop Onuoha said, “Our goal is to bring people together, people of various faith and tradition to celebrate the coming of Christ. The coming of Christ bring about peace and reconciliation, especially at this time in the history of our country where what is lacking is peace among people and when peace comes inside people’s heart, they will send it to others.

“So this is the time to preach peace and reconciliation and the truth is that, there is never a time in human history where everyone will agree in the same way, talk in the same way and act in the same way; but you must never beat up yourself because you don’t belong to the same religion or you don’t come from the same culture. What is important is that we are one family under God. We have humanity in us. Our humanity transcends various barriers and the coming of Christ breaks every barrier”.

Speaking also, Dr. Prince Origa, the Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs and friend to Bishop Onuoha, enjoined Christians to epitomize, practice and exemplify the life of Christ; embrace the core essence of Christmas which is love and shun anything that violates the rights of others and things that will bring about pains.

Also, the Methodist Archbishop of Okigwe Diocese, Most Rev. Livinus Onuagha noted that Bishop Onuoha has broken barriers with the awesome Christmas carol and nine lessons.
