It was a colourful celebration, a celebration of God’s benevolence as Elder Chief Agu Ukaogo Agu, husband to a former Permanent Secretary in the Abia State Civil Service, Rev’d Mrs Ifeoma Agu, celebrated his 70th birthday.

The birthday celebration attracted dignitaries from all walks  of life, who include: Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, Vice Chancellor, Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, retired Permanent Secretaries and the business class.

In a brief speech filled with emotions, the Chief celebrant recalled with nostalgia the challenges faced going forward and how his father died at the age of 54.

Elder Agu who expressed gratitude to God for His infinite love and grace and for sparing his life up to this time, specially appreciated Him for His divine wisdom which has aided him and still guides him in piloting the affairs of the enlarged family without troubles as it is seen in many families in the present society.

While appreciating God for His infinite mercies upon him, good health and prosperity in the family, Elder Agu advised Christians to put their trust in God, as all things comes from Him.

Earlier in his homily titled, “Keep Standing Strong In Your Faith”, with texts drawn from the Bible books of Genesis chapter 12 verses 1 to 4 and 1 Corinthians 15 verse 58; 16 verses 13 to 15, Rev’d Cletus Mba, Priest in charge of The Presbyterian Church Nigeria, 189 Azikwe road, Umuahia and also the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Science and Technology encouraged the gathering to be watchful, remain strong and unmovable in Christian faith and also remain steadfast in daily walk with God.

The homilist went further to charge them to be always available in the work of God and quit not like ordinary men.
