AWEP Collaborates With ACT Foundation To Empower Women In Nasarawa State

The African Women Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP) Nigeria has pitched tent with Aspire Coronation Trust(ACT) Foundation to empower three hundred women in five communities of Nasarawa State through Skills Acquisition Training.
Speaking while declaring the Project open during its Launch in Shabu, according to the press release made available to newsmen by Dr. Grace Okaro, AWEP National Public Relations Officer, the Governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Sule, who was represented by his Adviser on Economic Matters, John Chris Mamuda stated that the Project was in line with the vision of the State Government.
Gov. Sule who expressed his administration’s willingness to partner with any organization whose objectives include impacting on the women and youths in the state, commended AWEP for their vision and the choice of Nasarawa State as a beneficiary for the capacity building project aimed at Promoting of Women Empowerment and Rights.
In her address, the National President of AWEP, Nigeria, Mrs Angela Ajala who spoke through the General Secretary, Dr. Emilia Csaszar expressed excitement at the synergy between AWEP and ACT Foundation which has yielded the positive effect of training of six hundred women from ten communities of FCT and Nasarawa State on Agricultural based Skills.
She stated that this will enable the women contribute to the economy and add value to their lives and families.
Ajala also extolled the Federal Ministry of Industry, Investment & Trade, Small & Medium Enterprises Agency of Nigeria and the Community Leaders of the benefiting communities for their continued support of the Project.
In his speech while receiving the POWER Project Team in his palace, the Royal Father of the day and the Etsu II of Sangarin Shabu, Mahmoud Bwallah expressed appreciation to AWEP for identifying his community as one of the beneficiaries.
He also commended the Project Coordinator, Mrs. Nelly Ndaguba-Osagie and all those who have worked tirelessly towards achieving the success recorded at the Launch and expressed his readiness to support the Project.
