APC stakeholder hails Appeal Court judgement on Ikechi Emenike

A foremost stakeholder in All Progressives Congress, APC Abia State chapter, Prof. Okezie Abarikwu, has described the recent Appeal court judgment which favoured High Chief Ikechi Emenike as against Dr. Uche Ogah on who is the authentic party guber candidate for 2023 governorship election, as a Christmas present to all those who aspires for good governance and leadership in Abia.

Interacting with our correspondent in Umuahia, Prof. Abarikwu expressed optimism that the judgement will be translated in March, 2023, for High Chief Ikechi Emenike and the APC to effectively rescue and develop Abia.

Abarikwu who commended the Court of Appeal for restoring the hope of the electorate, also extended his appreciation to High Chief Ikechi Emenike’s supporters and Abians for their prayers and for remaining peaceful while the ordeal lasted.

He expressed gratitude to the Abia APC governorship candidate, for his maturity, steadfastness and exemplary leadership which Abia will experience in the year 2023.

Abarikwu reiterated the readiness and preparedness of APC stakeholders in the State to ensure the victory of Emenike at the polls.

Recall that the Court of Appeal in Abuja, on Friday last week, further confirmed High Chief Ikechi Emenike as the duly elected governorship candidate of the APC in Abia State for the 2023 general election.

In a unanimous judgment delivered on three appeal cases before it, the appeal panel led by Hon. Justice Peter Olabisi Ige held that the May 26, 2022 primary election through which Emenike emerged was valid and his candidacy has no blemish.

Both APC and its gubernatorial candidate, Emenike had filed separate appeals (Appeal No. CA/ABJ/1159 High Chief Ikechi Emenike Vs Dr. Sampson Uche Ogah & 3 Ors; CA/ABJ/1157 APC Vs Dr Sampson Uche Ogah & 3 Ors), challenging the verdict delivered by Justice Binta Nyako of a Federal High Court in Abuja on a purported direct primary election that Sampson Uche Ogah claimed he had conducted and won.
