Afugiri motorcyclists, Williams Memorial Sec. Sch. Lane traders assures Amalambu of support… As he interacts with Umuyota youths…Speaks on the death of Prof. Ikonne


Tens of Afugiri motorcyclists (Okada riders) and traders along Williams Memorial Secondary School lane have assured Rev. Blessed Amalambu, the African Democratic Congress, ADC candidate for Umuahia North State Constituency of full support in the forthcoming State House of Assembly election.

Speaking respectively during a meeting with the ADC candidate, Mr. Nwabueze Odionyemfe, the Chairman of Afugiri motorcyclists Association; Mr. Lawrence Eme, High Chief Chukwuemeka Kalu Adighibe; Mrs Ngozi Nwaobasi; Pastor Iheanyichukwu Ibeleme among others maintained that character will be their watchword, when and while voting in the election.

They pointed out that character matters a lot in the Church and they are following Rev. Amalambu because of his character which they have known him for.

They maintained that he is ripe and matured for the position, expressing strong confidence that Umuahia North Constituency will not be disappointed but will rejoice if Amalambu wins.

They asserted that Rev. Amalambu will perform like the late Eastern region premier, Michael Okpara, even as they pointed out that they do not need a soothsayer to guide them to who to vote for in the State House of Assembly election.

They therefore encouraged other voters in the Constituency to follow Amalambu, as he is the one that knows the right road.

Responding, the ADC candidate for Umuahia North State Constituency, Rev. Blessed Amalambu who described himself as a humble man from the Church, encouraged them to sustain their support for him as he is reliable, credible and will not disappoint them, if elected as a legislator.

He reminded them that the business of lawmaking should not be left in the hands of those who are egocentric and corrupt minded, insisting that he stand to be the best among other candidates from every point of comparison.

“I am the most credible. I am corrupt free. I have debated on bills at the State House of Assembly during the public hearing and I have positively influenced some of the bills. I have the exposure, intelligence and knowledge of the processes the bill pass through.

“We should not be blindfolded this time, we should get people who are balanced and who have the boldness, who knows the intricacies and formatives of the law to represent us.

“If duly elected, we will have a structural template and we will set our records straight. There will be a periodic workshop for the Ohuhu Constituents”, Rev. Amalambu assured.

The youths of Umuyota

In a related development, the youths of Umuyota in Umuahia North State Constituency have declared their full support for Rev. Blessed Amalambu, assuring also to do everything possible to make sure he wins the election.

Reacting to the sudden death of Prof. Uche Ikonne, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Rev. Amalambu, advised those rejoicing over his death to have a rethink as it can happen to anyone.

“Though I have not met him personally but I see him as a cheerful man who meant well for Abia State. I am pained to hear that he’s dead. I have been reading statements of people about his death with most people celebrating his demise, whosoever thinks towards that direction is a wicked man”, Amalambu warns of the dangers associated with rejoicing over someone’s death.
