Abia State: NDE Commences ABT, Tasks Beneficiaries On Sustainable Business Enterprises
The National Directorate of Employment, NDE has commenced the Advanced Business Training (ABT) for the beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s Expanded Special Public Works (ESPW) programme in the three senatorial zones of Abia State.
Flagging off the programme for the Abia Central Senatorial zone of the state at Umuahia North Local Government Area headquarters, the Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by the State Coordinator of NDE Abia State, Mr Chima Uzoma Ibeh said that the training programme is aimed at equipping the beneficiaries with a more advanced knowledge of business skills having undergone the Basic Business Training (BBT) during their engagements in the 774,000 nationwide jobs across the local government areas supervised by the NDE earlier in the year.
Speaking also, the Director, Special Public Works (SPW) of NDE, Mrs Roseline Olaomi represented by Mr Kenneth Okafor from Abuja headquarters of the agency, urged the beneficiaries to take the trainings seriously and build sustainable business enterprises from knowledge that they will gain from the specialist resource persons drawn from the Small Scale Enterprises (SSE) department of the agency.
It was gathered that the participants for the two days free Advanced Business Training programme would be given free lunch meals.
