A model Traditional Ruler and immediate past Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers, Umuahia North L.G.A, of Abia State, HRM Pastor Philip Ajomiwe has admonished the State Governor-elect, Alex Otti, to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and be magnanimous in victory and accommodate everyone by avoiding politics of seclusion and retaliation.

This is even as he appreciated the State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, the Governorship candidates of APGA, Prof. Greg Ibe; Accord Party, Bishop Emeka Nwankpa; ADP, Chief Chibuike Jonas; ADC, Bishop Sunday Onuoha; NNPP Chief Ukpai Iro Ukpai for congratulating Dr. Otti shortly after he was declared winner of the March 18, 2023 guber poll in Abia by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In a press release he made available to newsmen in the, Eze Ajomiwe, who is an agriculturist, entrepreneur and traditional ruler of Oriendu autonomous community, Ohuhu clan encouraged other aggrieved candidates to embrace the advice of Gov. Ikpeazu and other critical stakeholders and lovers of Abia and shun the urge to drag Otti around with litigations.

He reminded them that Abia seems to be backward when compared with other states today, was because of the negative effect of unnecessary and avoidable litigations.

Eze Ajomiwe who praised Otti’s humble disposition and unassuming posture that has been evident throughout his years of contesting the guber seat of the State, namely Years 2015, 2019 and 2023, referred to the Bible book of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 which stated that, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”.

While believing that the victory of Dr. Alex Otti was due to his humble disposition and unassuming posture that bears eloquent testimony of his personality known over the years, Eze Ajomiwe said, “With the support of the traditional rulers and the people of Ohuhu clan, Umuahia North and Abia, Dr. Otti is expected to usher in a new era of development and progress in the state”.

Eze Ajomiwe seized the opportunity to appreciate the dexterity, bravery, maturity, justice and fairness disposition of the Abia State INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Nnenna Otti, who he described as suitably academic staff of impeccable integrity who understood that her task was a call to national service.

He encouraged the INEC to always go for epitome of honesty like Prof. Otti and also to maintain its words of not accepting the nomination of university lecturers who are card carrying members or had participated in partisan politics or convicted of electoral malpractice and who must swear to an oath of neutrality, as Returning and State Collation Officers in the future elections in Nigeria.
