Abia D.Gov Receives NDU, Tasks Town Unions On Security

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has tasked town unions and other constituted authorities at the community level to assist the Government solve the security challenges bedeviling the society.
Sir. Oko Chukwu who gave the charge when he received the new Executive Committee of Nkporo Development Union at his Government House lodge, Umuahia, Abia State further encouraged them to assist Government in community policing at the local Government level, especially now that the nation is passing through economic, social and security challenges.
He charged newly elected executive of Nkporo Development Union, NDU to liase and collaborate with leaders at the community, local Government and State levels in attracting developmental projects to Nkporo land.
The Deputy Governor congratulated them on their emergence as new executive of the Nkporo Development Union and expressed optimism that with the President and caliber of personalities elected to serve with him, they will do the Community and the immediate past executive proud by bequeathing remarkable achievements to their successors.
He further advised the new executive to always work in close collaboration with the National and International branches of the Union to work towards the development of Nkporo Land and urged them not to hesitate to bring to Government’s notice of any problem confronting them.
In their speech, the new President General of Nkporo Development Union, Chief Benjamin Ifegwu Umeri and the Vice President, Chief. Martins Ogbu Oke said they deemed it fit to pay him homage having been elected by Nkporo people to superintendent over affairs of the National Union and thanked the Deputy Governor for giving them a sense of belonging through the infrastructural developments he has attracted to Nkporo land.
He promised to make him and Nkporo people proud.
The Special Aides of the Deputy Governor were present during the visit.
