Abia: Cleanup Exercise Holds On Saturday

The monthly sanitation exercise for the month of November, will hold on Saturday, November 26, 2022 in Abia state between the hours of 9:00am and 11am.
The release signed by Chief Sam Nwogu, Commissioner of Environment stipulates that movement of people and vehicles during the period shall be restricted except those on essential duties who would be required to present on demand, valid identification or any authentic authorization for such exemption.
The Executive Chairmen of the Local Government Councils, Traditional Rulers, Town Union Leaders, Religious Leaders, Youth and Women Organizations in the state are required to monitor and sensitize their people on the importance of the exercise and to participate as well.
According to the release, the Nigeria Police, Federal Road Safety Corps, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps are to assemble at their usual places of take off for deployment.
The release further directs that people are to stay back and clean up their areas and must work with their face mask as has been directed by the government.
The release stated that defaulters would be arrested and prosecuted in line with the Abia state basic Environmental law.
