Abia 2023: Mrs Ibe visit wives of traditional rulers, promise better welfare package for women

The wife of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA governorship candidate for the 2023 guber election, Mrs Joy Ibe has promised a better welfare package for the wives of Abia State traditional rulers, which will also involve an upward review of their monthly stipends.

Addressing the wives of the traditional rulers in the Palace of Justice, Itaja-Amaegbu, Olokoro in Umuahia South L.G.A, of Abia State, Mrs Ibe also disclosed plans to empower Abia women, so that they will be self-reliant and effectively play their roles in their respective families and the society.

She said that the intention of Prof. Gregory Ibe, APGA guber candidate, if duly elected as Abia governor was to solve the state’s problem and move Abia to rank among the best states across the Federation.

Mrs Ibe said that a support for her husband who is from Abia North senatorial district, is a support for equity, truth and posterity sake, even as she maintained that the APGA governorship candidate has what it takes to reposition the state.

She encouraged the wives of traditional rulers to use their influence as community builders and major stakeholders in the development of the society to meaningfully contribute to the new Abia project of Greg Ibe.

Responding, the Chairperson of Ndi Ugoeze Abia Central senatorial district, Ugoeze Ifeyinwa Onwuka said that the wives of traditional rulers are known for carrying the message of good governance in their respective Communities.

Ugoeze Onwuka who poured encomiums on the wife of the State Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, appreciated her for improving on the welfare of the wives of traditional rulers through the introduction of the payment of stipends to them and prayed that the next wife of the governor will not only continue with the gesture but to further improve on it

Lending her voice, Ugoeze Theresa Chieheuka from Umunneato axis of Abia Central, prayed for a governor who will continue to promote the interest of the State and the affairs of the wives of traditional rulers.
