Road to 2023: Group endorses Bishop Onuoha, Abia ADC guber candidate


Abia Central Students Association of Nigeria and Youth Movement, a group which has about 5,620 members and more than 4,000 registered voters with their Permanent Voter Cards has vowed to deliver successfully Bishop Sunday Onuoha, the African Democratic Congress, ADC governorship candidate in the forthcoming guber election in Abia State.

The group which x-rayed the achievements made by Bishop Onuoha in all sectors of the economy, made their position known to newsmen in Umuahia in a communique presented by Mr. Geoffrey Ifeanyichukwu on behalf of their leader, Mr. Emmanuel Sopuru.

The group which believed strongly in Abia Charter of Equity, pointed out that over the years, they have tested the credibility of Bishop Onuoha and decided that what Abians need in 2023 is a man of goodwill who can move the state forward.

“For the charter of equity, the first Governor of Abia State was from Abia North, second Governor from Central, the third Governor, the incumbent from Abia South Senatorial district, we, as student union and youth movement, we move our motion and stand on our feet that the next governor will come from Abia North.

“And we hereby declare and present our support to our fellow students from Abia North of their choice of consensus governorship candidate for 2023 election, Bishop Sunday Onuoha”.

Also in their respective speeches, Mr. Kelechi Onuigbo, a youth leader from Ikwuano L.G.A; Mr. Nwaigwe Eze, Youth President from Osisioma Ngwa L.G.A; and Mrs Nkechi Nwachukwu, a woman leader from Isialangwa North L.G.A, expressed their readiness and preparedness to carry the message of Bishop Onuoha and ADC to all the nooks and crannies of Abia Central, insisting that they are poised to changing the narrative in 2023.

Lending his voice, Dr. Uduma Nnate, the Director General, Abia Political projects and Team Lead, Consensus Governorship Candidate Screening Committee pointed out that God has revealed to Abians Bishop Onuoha, the Joshua that will cleanse the state and religiously introduce good governance.

He charged the students not to mortgage their tomorrow because of monetary inducement but to think of the future and vote wisely.

Receiving the students, the Governorship candidate of the ADC, Bishop Sunday Onuoha who was represented by his running mate, Mrs Glory Nwasimuo decried that Abia is seriously lagging behind because of bad leadership and governance even when God designed the state to take the lead.

She pointed out that Abia has the resources needed to be the best among equals but regretted that they are poorly utilized and encouraged the students to help Bishop Onuoha, as his foot-soldiers, to rescue Abia State.

“It is time to change the narrative, so let us change the Godfatherism notion, let us vote Bishop Onuoha, the candidate that will get Abia back to normalcy”, Mrs Nwasimuo tasked the students.
