Civil servants have been called to align with Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti’s transformation and innovation agenda within the civil service.
This directive was issued by Mrs. Ekaette Oham, Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, during an inaugural meeting with the commission’s management staff.
Mrs. Oham declared that the days of receiving a salary without accountability are over.
She urged staff to avoid lateness, absenteeism, and other negative behaviors, instead embracing the core values of integrity, excellence, competence, and teamwork.
She stressed the necessity for collective effort to achieve the commission’s goals, highlighting Governor Otti’s dedication to revitalizing a long-neglected system.
In response, Sarah Okoro, Deputy Director of Administration, expressed gratitude for Mrs. Oham’s promotion and extended best wishes for her tenure.
The meeting was attended by all Directors and Heads of Departments, as noted in a press release by Nkechinyere Ekejiuba, the Public Relations Officer.
