Christians have been called upon to rejuvenate their spiritual strength through diligent study of the Word of God and fervent prayer.
This exhortation was delivered by the Right Reverend Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Umuahia, during a two-day Retreat and Rededication service for the Council of Knights and Ladies of the Diocese, held at Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State.
Addressing the gathering on the theme “Renew My Strength Oh! Lord,” inspired by Isaiah 40:29 and 31, Bishop Ibeabuchi emphasized the necessity for Christians to acknowledge their weaknesses and seek strength from their divine source to navigate life’s challenges.
The Bishop highlighted the pressing need for spiritual renewal in light of increasing lawlessness, moral decay, and economic instability in the country, which have dampened the zeal of many in their service to God.
He urged the Knights and Ladies of the Diocese to remain steadfast, continually engage with the Scriptures, uphold the Faith, and embrace their calling in God’s service.
The event featured the rededication of the Knights and Ladies, a seminar on Gender-Based Violence, and an exposition of the theme by Venerable Chukwuemeka Agbanyim.
