ABIA State Health Commissioner, Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche, has lauded the leadership of Governor Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, highlighting the administration’s dedication to effective and scalable health initiatives.

 Prof. Enoch Ogbonnaya Uche said this when he met with representatives from the National AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, and STIs Control Program (NASCP), the Federal Ministry of Health, and other key health agencies, during a pivotal stakeholders’ engagement meeting held in the Ministry of Health’s Board Room in Umuahia.

The meeting, themed “Scaling Up the Elimination of HBV and HC in Nigeria – The Hepatitis Evaluation to Amplify Testing and Treatment (HEAT II) in Nigeria,” emphasized the need for enhanced collaboration among health bodies to advance the fight against hepatitis.

Prof. Uche stressed the importance of evaluating past efforts, identifying successes and shortcomings, and integrating strategies to achieve the state’s health objectives.

“The process is crucial as it defines our endpoint,” Prof. Uche stated, urging stakeholders to foster an environment conducive to improved health outcomes in Abia State.

The meeting was attended by notable figures, including the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ifeyinwa Blossom Uma-Kalu, Director of Public Health Dr. Princess Orieji Agomoh, Director of Medical Services Dr. Borke Okwale, CMD ABSUTH Prof. Ijeoma Nduka, and CMD of Abia Specialist Hospital and Diagnostic Center Dr. Okwuonu, among others.
