Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has initiated the rehabilitation and functionalization of 200 primary healthcare centers across the 184 wards of the state, marking the launch at the Primary Health Center in Ngwu Uzuakoli, Bende Local Government Area. 

This significant development was announced by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ctz. Ukoha Njoku Ukoha.

In a separate development, Governor Otti declared Abia State open for business, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering a conducive environment for commercial activities.

 This statement was made during the commissioning of the privately developed JOVIT MALL in Aba, the state’s commercial hub.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, Governor Otti invited investors from across Nigeria to bring their ventures to Abia, assuring them of governmental support.

“This administration is dedicated to creating an environment where businesses can flourish,” Governor Otti stated. “Now is the time to invest in Abia State. We are open for business, and we encourage you to relocate your enterprises from Abuja, Lagos, and beyond.”

Governor Otti highlighted his administration’s deliberate efforts to transform governance in Abia State, focusing on infrastructure development and security enhancements to safeguard residents and businesses.

He praised the JOVIT Group for aligning with the government’s vision and urged other investors to follow suit.

Chief Nwaka Inem, Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment, noted the administration’s strides in revitalizing Aba as a trade and industry center over the past 19 months.

 He cited the unveiling of JOVIT MALL as evidence of these efforts and called for continued support for the administration’s vision.

Traditional ruler Eze Isaac Ikonne commended Governor Otti’s unprecedented infrastructural advancements in Aba, offering prayers for the Governor’s success and urging collective support.

Mrs. Jovita Oguta, representing JOVIT Groups, expressed gratitude to the Governor for fostering a business-friendly environment and highlighted the mall’s role in job creation and economic development.

In another development, Governor Otti inaugurated the Governing Council of Abia State University, Uturu (ABSU), appointing Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman.

He challenged the council to elevate the university to one of Nigeria’s finest, expressing confidence in their capabilities based on their integrity and track records.

Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu, speaking on behalf of the council, pledged their commitment to the Governor’s transformative vision for ABSU, promising to work diligently to enhance the institution’s standing within the next few years.
