Governor Alex Otti of Abia State reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Abia into a model state that embraces inclusivity, emphasizing that residency, work, and tax contributions define one’s belonging to Abia.

Speaking on January 18th in Aba at the wedding of Clement Owunna Jr., son of STARLINE CEO Mazi Clement Owunna, Governor Otti praised Mazi Owunna’s unwavering faith in Aba’s potential, which inspired him to leave a lucrative banking career to lead Abia’s revitalization.

Governor Otti highlighted the abolition of the “State of origin” concept, asserting that anyone living and working in Abia is considered a native.

He cited the appointment of Ide John Udeagbala as Mayor of Aba North and Edo-born Benson Ojeikere as Head of Service, both chosen for their merit, as examples of his administration’s commitment to inclusivity.

Describing his 19-month tenure as a “dress rehearsal,” Governor Otti promised significant developments, including the transformation of the abandoned Enyimba Hotel into a Radisson Blu and the creation of a conference center and leisure park.

He assured the public of his dedication to using state resources for Abia’s progress.

The wedding ceremony was attended by notable figures, including the Governor’s wife, Mrs. Priscilla Chidimma Otti, underscoring the event’s significance.
