In celebration of National Youth Day, the Abia State Coordinator of National Anti corruption Volunteer Corps of Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Crimes Commission, Abia State chapter, Rev. Dr. Blessed Amalambu has urged Nigerian youths to envision a future filled with legitimate job opportunities.

During an interaction with our correspondent in Umuahia, Abia State, Rev. Amalambu, who commended countries like India for dedicating January 12 to celebrate their youth, encouraged Nigerian youths to reject unethical practices, embrace entrepreneurial skills, and explore the green economy and other meaningful trades.

He noted that National Youth Day is an ideal occasion to appreciate and honour young people worldwide, who possess immense potential.

Describing the youth as “young hearts with limitless energy and endless possibilities,” Amalambu emphasized that this phase of life is for growth, exploration, and self-discovery.

He suggested that one meaningful way to celebrate National Youth Day is by supporting charities that address the challenges faced by today’s youth.

Historical records indicate that National Youth Day in India originated in 1984 when the government designated this day to focus on the nation’s young people. It is celebrated in honour of Swami Vivekananda’s birthday, a 19th-century influential figure in India who believed in the power of youth. His philosophies and ideals continue to inspire the youth of India today.
