The Commissioner of Police, Abia State Command, CP Danladi Isa, convened the first strategic meeting of the year with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), and Tactical Commanders.

During the session, CP Isa underscored key directives from the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), focusing on issues such as corruption, extortion, public incivility, and the necessity for proper supervision of junior officers.

He refuted false online reports claiming the IGP had authorized the public to assault officers who search phones, clarifying that such assaults will not be tolerated.

CP Isa evaluated the successes of current strategies aimed at reducing crime and curbing unprofessional conduct among officers.

Progress reports from the CP’s monitoring team were reviewed, alongside the introduction of the Mutual Accountability Scorecard by the Police Public Relations Officer, a tool designed to enhance transparency and accountability within the command.

He said that these initiatives align with the IGP’s 2025 mandate to effectively minimize crime.

CP Isa expressed gratitude for the officers’ dedication in 2024 and encouraged them to build on their efforts for an even more impactful year ahead.

The meeting concluded with directives for all DPOs, Area Commanders, and Tactical Commanders to draft actionable crime-reduction plans tailored to their jurisdictions, with submission timelines for review and implementation.
