In a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage, High Chief Chukwuemeka Nkume, a distinguished son of Umunada, Ahuwa-Oboro autonomous community, has been bestowed with the esteemed Nwachinemere I chieftaincy title.

The honour was conferred by HRH Eze Emeka Ezeoma, the revered traditional ruler of Oruigwe autonomous community in Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

During the ceremonial conferral, HRH Eze Emeka Ezeoma, the Igwebuike II of Oruigwe, extolled High Chief Nkume as a “golden fish that has no hiding place,” highlighting his exceptional contributions and meritorious achievements.

The monarch praised Nkume’s philanthropic endeavors and humanitarian services, which have significantly benefited the community and society at large.

Adding their voices to the accolades, HRH Eze Chukwuemeka Ironsi, chairman of the Oboro Council of Traditional Rulers, along with HRH Eze Peter Anyaegbu and HRH Eze Ben Oriaku, emphasized that chieftaincy titles are reserved for individuals with sterling qualities and outstanding societal contributions.

Interacting with our correspondent, the President General of Ahuwa-Oboro autonomous community, Engr. Dr. James Nnadozie Uchegbuo, urged High Chief Nkume to continue championing peace, justice, and fairness within the community.

In his acceptance speech, High Chief Chukwuemeka Nkume expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Oruigwe autonomous community and the traditional rulers of Oboro for the honour.

 He reaffirmed his commitment to selfless service and called upon the community to join him in the collective effort to advance the development of Oruigwe.
