In a heartfelt New Year message, Ambassador Moses Onyegbule, President General of the Igbo Ekene Global Development Union (IEGDU), extended warm greetings to the people of the Southeast.
Speaking from his residence in Itaja-Obohia, Olokoro, Onyegbule also addressed the residents of Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, urging the youth to remain focused, positive, and determined in their pursuit of a brighter future.
Onyegbule underscored the significance of hard work, resilience, and perseverance in all genuine endeavours.
He encouraged the youth to acquire entrepreneurial skills and advised them to steer clear of excessive alcohol consumption, illegal substances, and other societal vices.
Expressing gratitude towards the traditional institutions and leadership bodies in Olokoro, Onyegbule praised their efforts in maintaining peace and order, urging them to continue their commendable work.
He also highlighted the Olokoro football competition, sponsored by High Chief Chinedu Hope Obiakarije (Onwa 1) and other philanthropic initiatives, as key contributors to promoting peace, unity, love, harmony, progress, and development within the Olokoro community.
Onyegbule called upon the affluent to support the less fortunate, including indigent widows, the underprivileged, children with special needs, and orphans, as schools prepare to reopen.
He emphasized the importance of providing school uniforms, bags, and educational materials to enhance the learning experience for children.
