A Knight of St Mulumba, KSM and former Commissioner in the Government of Abia State, Engr. Sir Emmanuel Nwabuko, has enjoined Nigerians to always channel their aspirations and visions to God, as His time remains the best.
Speaking shortly after the diaconate ordination of Deacon Victor Nnamdi Nwankwo, and 13 other Deacons at Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral, Umuahia Diocese, Engr. Nwabuko, who also served as the Chairman of the occasion, described the mission of Deacon Nwankwo, as that of determination and perseverance.

“Born as the only son of the family, Deacon Victor Nnamdi Nwankwo is my nephew and I have always watched him closely. I am proud of him because of his determination to his chosen vocation. He is very humble and his humility is second to none”, Nwabuko said.
Engr. Nwabuko who appreciated for crowning Deacon Nwankwo’s effort with success, further described the event as a celebration of victory and achievement.

He appreciated the resilience of Deacon Nwankwo, who is the only Deacon in the ordination who hails from Umuahia diocese.
“He was supposed to be ordained last year August, but God wants it to be delayed and it was so and today he is being ordained a Deacon. That’s why we say that anything that happens in the world, comes at God’s own time”.
The Catholic Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Most Rev. Michael Kalu Ukpong had during the mass of the diaconate ordination, reminded the Deacons that they were called to the order of Melchizedek to serve God and administer the gospel of Christ to humanity.
He observed that the diaconate ordination of the 14 Deacons happened on the 14th day of December, 2024.
The candidates and later newly ordained Deacons had also during the mass manifested their intentions of commitment to celibacy and also promised to respect and show obedience to the Bishop and his successors.
