The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Abia State chapter has congratulated the newly elected President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi.
Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi, was elected at the just concluded 8th Triennial Delegates Conference held at Rock View Hotel, Owerri, Imo State on November 27, 2024.
NAWOJ, in a statement signed by the Chairperson, Comrade Josephine Ogwo and issued to newsmen on Thursday in Umuahia, also prayed that the new Administration at the national level will bring peace and impact all journalists across the country.
Abia NAWOJ went further to pray for divine wisdom, good health as the President and the entire EXCO takes up the big responsibility.
The Association assured it’s support, cooperation, and unalloyed loyalty as the New EXCO work hard to rebuild the NUJ.
It would be recalled that Alhassan was declared winner after polling 436 votes against Atumbi 97 votes and Garba Mohammed who polled 39 votes respectively.
