The Anglican Bishop of Umuahia Diocese, Anglican communion, The Rt. Rev’d Geoffrey Ibeabuchi on Monday, November 25, 2024 marked his 5th year as the Bishop of Umuahia diocese with a Eucharistic thanksgiving service.

Speaking at St. Stephen’s cathedral, Umuahia, Abia State during the service, which took place in the evening, Bishop Ibeabuchi, called for prayers, support and encouragement from members.

He reminded them that the only reason for his consecration and enthronement as the Bishop is to bear much good fruits that will remain in God’s vineyard.

Bishop Ibeabuchi who took his texts from the Bible books of Ephesians chapter 6 verses 18 and 19; and John chapter 15 verse 8, said, “God reminds us of something that gives Him glory and that thing is bearing much fruit, which will make us to be counted as His disciples”.

Bishop Ibeabuchi who became emotional during the service recounted the hiccups and successes achieved in the past five years of his consecration and enthronement, said, “Within these years, we have seen the grace of God and the mercy of God. We have also seen challenges but in all God has shown us faithfulness. The divine power of God has made us to stand firm, despite the schemes of the devil to pull us down”.

The Anglican Bishop passionately called on the Church to intensify prayers for him, saying, “the task is much, I need your prayers and encouragement to succeed”.
